Dylan Thomas Boathouse, Laugharne, Carmarthenshire

The boathouse, perched over the Taf estuary, was the home of Dylan Thomas (see - Famous Figures in Welsh History ) for the last four years of his life.

It was here that he wrote Under Milk Wood, describing the inhabitants of the mythical town of Llareggub, widely believed to be based on Laugharne itself.

Main attraction is the "writing shed", a small outhouse where Dylan Thomas did much of his writing.

Caldey Island, off Tenby, Pembrokeshire

Caldey Island is a small monastery island owned by the Cistercian Order. The island can be visited - although some areas are reserved for the monks.

The monks produce a range of perfumes, which are on sale to visitors.

There is an abundance of wildlife and paths for walkers.
