Dylan Thomas Boathouse, Laugharne, Carmarthenshire
The boathouse, perched over the Taf estuary, was the home of Dylan
Thomas (see -
Famous Figures in Welsh History
) for the last four years of his life.
It was here that he wrote Under Milk Wood, describing the inhabitants
of the mythical town of Llareggub, widely believed to be based on
Laugharne itself.
Main attraction is the "writing shed", a small outhouse where Dylan Thomas
did much of his writing.
Range of exhibits and information relating to ecological issues. Explanations
supporting the development of windpower in the region.
Demonstration of solar heating and small wind turbine outside.
No admision charge.
