Pentre Ifan Pentre Ifan is probably the most well-known Neolithic Burial Chamber in Wales. The horizontal capstone is about 5 metres long and weighs about 16 tonnes. It is unlikely that it could have been placed in position without the aid of lifting devices of some kind.

The cromlech at Pentre Ifan is one of the icons of Wales.

It is one of a number of neolithic sites, which together with Castles and other places of historic interest, attract visitors to the area. The area is popular with walkers - especially along the Pembrokeshire coastal path.

The county of Pembrokeshire has something of a divided identity. The English have long settled in the southern part - to the point that it is colloquially known as "little England beyond Wales". Places such as Saundersfoot and Tenby have something of a traditional English seaside atmosphere about them.

The northern part has to a greater extent held on to its Welsh character and the Welsh language is still heard in the streets and in some shops.
