Your opinion counts:

  • not just when you buy
  • not just when you vote

Public Opinion Surveys

Street Survey If you've been canvassed for your opinion recently, the chances are its either commercial or party political.

Whether it's to get you to vote a certain way or to buy a certain product, its for their benefit, not for yours.

Why not have a look and see what other people are thinking?

If you see things which you agree with, why not tell your MP, AM or Council representative.

It is also an opportunity inform him or her the extent to which your views appear to be supported in the electorate as a whole.

A 60 second interview for the Lottery Survey.

Lottery Survey

The Lottery Survey showed that if the people of Wales were offered their own lottery it would be very popular. A not-for-profit lottery with the procedes going to good causes in Wales would capture an estimated three-quarters of the market if run in competition with the National Lottery.

Ethical Considerations

Before anyone is asked questions for an opinion survey they should have the right to know the answer to three questions:

  1. What is the survey about?
  2. How long will it take?
  3. Will I have to give my name?

net-cymru surveys to date have been anonymous and designed to a target interview length of one minute.

Not only that, the results are placed on the Internet and available to anyone.

Although the results may be commented upon, the raw data is also made posted, available to anyone who thinks there's a different story to be made of the interviews.

Compare this to some commercial market surveys, where once stopped you may be detained for some time, asked for your name only at the end, where you won't be told who has commissioned the survey, the results will be available only to those who will have an interest in getting you to spend more money on their products - hardly something which matches your interests.

Thank You

A heartfelt thanks to all those who have given a bit of their time to help with these surveys.
