Barrivale was formed six years ago and our aim is to try to fill some of the
gaps in the communiyt aid programme, and try to bring some sunshine into some
of the frail elderly's lives as well as pleasure into the lives of the fit,
young at heart senior citizens who we cater for, every week at "Rondel
House" where we have a club for about 90 young at heart members.
In the past 18 months we have had two holidays at Porthcawl. Our less
able friends, and also members had a holiday at Bournemouth which was
enjoyed by the 50 who went.
Sopme of our members are trained in first aid, and have given cover at events
throughout the year.
Escort duties have been carried out by members by providing transport for those
who are unable to use public transport to attend hospital appointments, etc.
