Brecon
Main town of the Brecon Beacons at the point where the River Honddu
joins the River Usk. The Welsh name is Aberhonddu - mouth of the
River Honddu.
Points of interest:
Norman Motte and Bailey Castle dating from 1093 when Bernard de
Neufmarche captured the Welsh Kingdom of Brycheiniog.
Town withstood the uprisings of Llewellyn Fawr and Owain Glyndŵr - see

Became a fashionable winter residence for the rich during the 17th and
18th century. Much Georgean architechture dates from this period.

Canal.
Llandovery
Town at the western edge of the Brecon Beacons. During the 17th and 18th
centuries it was a place where drovers met before moving their cattle
on to London for sale.
It is still an agricultural and market town.
